Episode 1 of Simply Offensive Podcast!
I am excited to share that my new podcast, Simply Offensive, launched this week. Simply Offensive is a new addition to the Simply Cyber Media podcast family. Episodes will be published weekly on Tuesdays. My first guest is Michael Kim, who was on The Phillip Wylie Show; the episode is here. Michael shares his advice on certifications and offensive security training. You can find the podcast on Simply Cyber’s YouTube channel under a podcast and playlist for Simply Offensive. It will also be available on popular podcast platforms. https://www.youtube.com/@SimplyCyber
Cybersecurity Tools
My security tool pick for the week is OWASP Amass. Amass is an official OWASP project and was created by my friend Jeff Foley. Jeff is the project leader and leads the development of Amass.
From the OWASP Amass Project Page: Amass is a framework for helping information security professionals perform network mapping of attack surfaces and external asset discovery using open-source intelligence gathering and reconnaissance techniques.
The framework includes a collection engine for asset discovery, an asset database for storage of findings, and the Open Asset Model, used by various tooling to help understand attack surfaces.
Amass has been a popular reconnaissance tool for bug bounty hunters for years. Try it and see how it can ease your reconnaissance and attack surface management tasks!
